Vintage yarn doll Native American Hopi Indian

Vintage yarn doll Native American Hopi Indian

Vintage yarn doll Native American Hopi Indian

This is a delightful vintage doll, 11.5 inches high of knitted yarn. White body, pink boots, dance skirt & sash. Black eyes, red lips, green "corn plant" in right hand, red yarn rattle in left hand.

We acquired it from Jack isaacs, an Albuquerque, New Mexico antique collector of long standing in the 1990s. He estimated it's age ca 1970s.

To the best of our knowledge it is not a "kachina". More likely a child's plaything, but a nice example of folk culture, especially for doll collectors. This item is in the category "Collectibles\Cultures & Ethnicities\Native American: US\Non-Native American Crafts". The seller is "taosski" and is located in this country: US.
