Native american war club
It is 17" long, the ball is 2 1/4". This is a new, hand carved (no power tools used at all on this piece) Ball/Snake Head War Club. It is cut from a piece of walnut, I used a few small chisels an knives, trying to make it as closely as they (the native American Indian) might have.

It is not perfect an shiny, I sanded it down with a stone an burnished it with a piece of metal. My husband cut the piece of steel, (in the ball) heated and hammered it to shape. It has a warrior on a horse carved into the back of the handle an also a Buffalo carved into the front of the handle, both I painted.

I finished it with wax an buffed it down using dried oak leaves (that was a first for me)! Feels great in your hand. Never would have thought I would carve a snake but here it is, an a beautiful piece of art!
