Native American Indian Hematite Stone Tool Celt Axe Head Weapon Archaic Artifact

A very fine pre-historic Native American celt or axe head that is tapered on both ends. It is made of hematite which a scarce material compared to other common rock varieties seen in shaped tools. This tool has a very dark black and beautifully polished surface with few inclusions from use/age.

It is a dense rock and heavy for size at 234 grams. Overall it is in good condition with normal wear, please see all photos for condition.
