Circa 1880 Native American, play doll, stands 13 inches tall. Hair of braided buffalo wool. Facial features of seed bead eyes, nose, and mouth. Dress decorated of seed bead lines of green, turquoise blue, navy blue, pink and white blocks of color.
Hem line done in rows turquoise blue, navy blue, pink, and white blocks of color. Moccasins and leggings of buffalo hide and seed bead decorated. Leggings done in pink, turquoise, black, and white colored bands. Moccasins done in front panel of white, pink, black, and turquoise color. Doll wears a 1 inch wide belt of buffalo hide which is also seed beaded in blocks of color of green, white, navy, and pink.
A miniature pipe bag is attached to the belt. Fringe buffalo hide edges the sleeves of the dress. Sewing done in old thread and sinew. Bead embroidery done in long stitch method. Dolls were made by the grandparents for little girls to play with.
