This handmade pair of fringed leather moccasins was made by me. I've been making moccasins for many years for Native American gatherings, online and special orders. These Mocs are made from white cow hide for the uppers and 8 oz American Bison for the soles. The insoles are made from a piece of foam sandwiched between two pieces of cowhide with double hand stitching. (The brown moccasins are pictured to show the insole construction) The "Thunderbird" bead work is done on a loom then sewn onto a thin piece of German tanned leather which is then sewn onto the shoe.
This is done to give the beading a cushion and stability They are a woman's size 5. Perfect for the Native Dancer! These shoes are double stitched with white waxed thread and they are sewn tight.
So they should be tight when you first put them on. 8.5" long x 3.25" wide. Soft leather stretches with wear, so after a while they will conform to your foot.
